1950, London, blue ribbon
1951, Red Hills Show, England, GRAND ROYAL Grand Champion of the show
*SERAFIX, at age two, Reserve ChampionSaid John Rogers, "*SERAFIX won championships in England as a yearling, as a two-year old, and as a three year old. He was not shown in his fourth year prior to my purchasing him just before his fifth birthday in 1954.
In 1954, after arrival, *SERAFIX was shown at the Cow Palace and at Pomona, CA, winning Reserve Champion at both shows.
In 1955, in the hands of that great old Kellogg breeder, Bob Smith, *SERAFIX was Grand Champion and Champion Stallion at Pomona.
In 1956, *SERAFIX was not shown because of an injury in the trailer.
In 1957, *SERAFIX was shown once and named Champion Stallion.
In 1958, *SERAFIX was likewise shown once and named Champion Stallion.
After 1958, *SERAFIX was not shown again.John continues, "Possibly, *SERAFIX won more acclaim because of the show winnings of his progeny than he did by his own beauty, conformation, type, action, and all that it takes to make a magnificent stallion. The biggest year of *SERAFIX's career< I think, was the year 1962, when four of his mares raised in our place in Walnut Creek, and one of his sons, Royal Magic out of Royal Silver, won a Top Ten ribbon, making five out of the 20 Top Ten ribbons at the Estes Park show.
"This was the year that CHOLETTE was National Champion Mare, FIXETTE was Reserve National Champion Mare, and SILVER DAWN and STARFIRE were Top Ten, making up the four grey mares that were so famous. Right after this show, we had the bad luck of losing STARFIRE from hepititis, but 1962 was the all time big year.
"SILVER DRIFT was twice Reserve Champion Mare -- National Champion Mare -- and in addition, EL MAKILA, of Mrs. King, SX GENII'S PRIDE, and Gioia and one or two other mares have won Reserve National Champion Mare.
"One statistic I kept in mind always, from the first National classes held in 1958 through the Nationals in 1974, was this: a horse of my breeding or ownership, (most of whom were by *SERAFIX) placed in the Top Ten ribbons at halter in each year. In 1975, the record changed somewhat. A *SERAFIX daughter won a Top Ten ribbon, --OVERLOOK SERATIFA, owned by Overlook Arabians in Nevada -- won a Top Ten ribbon but she was not bred by me, being an outside mare to *SERAFIX. This record I hope will be carried on as there are several *SERAFIX progeny eligible for and planning to show in the 1976 Nationals."
