Neil pursues his favorite sport of hunting and the meat is always delicious. He is a lifemember of the National Rifle Association of America and the North American Hunting Club. Neil had a great time on his Alaskan Dall Sheep Hunt August of 97. Three years later he took a beautiful Alaskan caribou in the same area. In 2001 he flew in again to the high mountains of Alaska for another Dall Sheep Hunt. See his 2001 Alaskan Dall Sheep Photos. All the carpentry and handyman projects around our home, including building our home, are done by Neil. Neil uses some of his God given talents in maintenance and remodeling projects of our church. In fact he is also a life member of the Handyman Club of American. Seems like Neil can build or repair almost anything. In addition, Neil likes to attend many of the local auctions to find really "good" buys.

Susan's main hobby is the computer, esp. e-mail, the Internet, digital photography, creating personal and organizational web pages and other various computer projects. One of her loves is Praise and Worship and Southern Gospel music, being blessed by listening, singing and/or leading worship service. Susan has many years of operating room nurse experience as an RN, CNOR. She is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and currently employed full time by Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She also has had a few years experience in correctional nursing, along with supervision, with the maximun security Lemon Creek Correction Center in Juneau, Alaska. Other interests include reading, walking and enjoying the animals.

We met through Alaska Men Magazine. Neil was living in Anchorage, Alaska and Susan was living in Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. He was looking for a Christian woman to share his life with and for over 12 years we have been loving our Lord Jesus together. Currently, we attend Kellerton Assembly of God Church in Kellerton, Iowa and the Wellspring Full Gospel Fellowhsip in Lamoni, Iowa. We enjoy to worship and fellowship with our brothers and sisters all over the world: anywhere where Jesus is Lord and His blood, cross and resurrection is taught.

We like to give of our time and talents to those less fortunate, especially on team trips to poorer countries. What a joy and blessing to get together with other Christian campers for fellowship through Campers For Christ rallies. One of our dream vacations is to spend one to two weeks on Bora Bora. We now have a planned vacation for 5 weeks Thanksgiving/Christmas time 2011 to vacation in French Polynesia (Society, Tuamotu and Marquesas Islands) Until then, enjoy our Hawaiian vacation album.

Supporting our Troops: One way we are involved with supporting our troops is by sending post cards, letters, and/or packages via contacts obtained at Any Soldier.com "Freedom isn't free! Just ask any soldier.." The soldier contact puts the letters and packages into the hands of soldiers who don't get much or any mail first. Everything is shared. What a blessing this is.

Susan's son (Neil adopted him in His heart), Staff Sgt. Russell J. Verdugo was killed in Iraq May 23, 2005. He was with the US Army's 767th Ordnance Company (EOD) based in Washington D. C.
