ORDINANCE NO. 8.

AN ORDINANCE IN RELATION TO CITY COLLECTOR.

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Browning, Missouri, as follows:

SECTION 1. The City Collector shall promptly collect and pay over, nomthly, to the City Treasurer, all monies received by him from all sources, taking a duplicate receipt therefor and filing the same with the City Clerk, which may be levied by law or ordinance; also, all licenses authorized by law and ordinance to be collected.

SECTION 2. The City Collector shall, annually, at the first meeting of the Board of Aldermen in January of each year, make a detailed report of all monies collected by him during the year, and the amount collected, and the names of the persons from whom he failed to collect, and the cause therefor.

SECTION 3. The City Collector, before entering upon the discharge of his duties, shall give bond in the sum of five hundred dollars, payable to the City of Browning, with at least two securities, to be approved by the Board of Aldermen, conditioned that he will honestly and faithfully discharge all duties devolving upon him as provided by law and ordinance.

SECTION 4. The City Collector shall receive, as his commensation, three per cent of all taxes or revenues collected by him, before the same become delinquent, and five per cent of all taxes collected by him after the same become delinquent, the same to be added to the delinquent tax, by the Collector, as a penalty for such delinquency.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
