AN ORDINANCE ON RELATION TO BILLIARD, POOL, SHUFFLE BOARD AND OTHER TABLES, AND PROVIDING FOR LICENSING THE SAME.
Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Browning, Missouri, as follows:
SECTION One. No person or persons in this City shall keep any Billiard, Pool, Shuffleboard, or other tables upon which balls, discs and cues are used with a view of pay or gain, or where money is charged for playing the same, without first procuring a license from the City Clerk, and paying the amount herein after specified, together with the City Clerk's fee of fifty cents for issuing each license.
SECTION Two. There shall be charged and collected by the City Clerk for every license issued under the provisions of this ordinance the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) each table for one year. The fiscal year beginning July First, and ending as of June Thirtieth, the following year. Any application received and approved after November First from a new owner or operator shall be charged one dollar per month, each table for the remaining period of the fiscal year, provided further if nine months or more remain, the full year fee shall be collected.
SECTION Three. Any licensed Pool Hall shall legally operate any or all six (6) days of the week, closing not later than midnight on Saturday and remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday. Any operator violating any part of this SECTION, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and be fined not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00).
SECTION Four. Any person or persons who shall maintain, conduct or operate Billiard, Pool, Shuffle Board, or other tables without first procuring a license provided for in this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction be fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00) for each offense, and each day that any person shall continue such business without license shall be deemed and taken as a separate offense.
SECTION Five. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION Six. This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
