ORDINANCE


AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 227 OF THE CITY OF BROWN ING, MISSOURI, WHICH ORDINANCE IS ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING

HOUSING REHABILITATION GRANT GUIDELINES UNDER THE CITY'S 1996 STATE

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT NO. 96-ND-02.


WHEREAS, City of Browning passed Ordinance No. 227 by act of its Board of Alderman on September 3,1996; and


WHEREAS, after a quarterly review of the program was conducted to determine if changes or refinements are needed pursuant to Section 3 of said Ordinance, an amendment of a portion of the wording in Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 227 is necessary to clarify the intent of the original ordinance.


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMAN OF THE CITY OF BROWN ING, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:


SECTION I: Amendment to Section 4. Subsection B.

Ordinance No. 227, Section 4, Subsection B, is hereby amended by rewarding the phrase "7-1-96" to read "July 1,1997" and thereby will read in its entirety as follows:




Ordinance No. 227, Section 4 is hereby amended by adding immediately following Subsection C the following Subsection D.:

D. At the time of application for a grant under Ordinance 227 or Ordinance 230 the applicant must provide proof of payment of all outstanding municipal, township and county real property taxes in order for the application to be considered. Thereafter an applicant in order to remain eligible for assistance under this grant and ordinance must continue to keep current on payment of municipal, township and county real property taxes in order that the applicant is not delinquent at any time. At the time of signing an Affidavit of Service pursuant to Ordinance No. 230, Exhibit A, Steps in Process paragraph no. 4, the applicant must again provide written proof of payment of all municipal, township and county real property taxes in order to remain eligible for assistance under this grant, Ordinance

227 or Ordinance 230. The applicant must also provide written proof of payment of all municipal, township and county real property taxes when work is complete on a rehabbed house at the time the applicant is requesting the rehabilitation administrator to process payment for the work under the provisions of Ordinance 230, Exhibit A, Steps in Process paragraph 10.
