ORDINANCE NO. 23.

AN ORDINANCE IN REGARD TO QUARANTINE.

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Browning, Missouri, as follows:

SECTION 1. For the purpose of protecting the people of the city of Browning against contagious diseases, rabid animals, or other dangers that may threaten the health or safety of said people, the Mayor may at any time, with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen, issue his proclamation establishing a quarantine, and shall have power to enforce the same and to give the City Marshal and his assistants such orders and directions as may be needed for the enforcement of said quarantine; and such proclamation shall have the force and effect of an ordinance of the city.

SECTION 2. Any person violating any of the provisions, orders or prohibitions contained in any proclamation issued as aforesaid shall, on condition thereof, be fined not less than one dollar or more than one hundred dollars.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
