Mission of the Bethany Public Library
The mission of the Bethany Public Library is to build and maintain a
collection of Library materials in a variety of formats that will meet the
education, information and recreation needs of the community while assisting
patrons to access and utilize these materials.
Location
The Bethany Public Library is located on the West side of the square.
Materials
A large selection of adult, children and classic books, audio tapes, and
videos are available to lend to patrons. If a book you are looking for
is not in our library we can try to acquire it through the interlibrary loan
program. Our library also features a nice collection of "Early
American" books and artifacts. The public is invited to use the
reference and genealogy rooms.
Technology
Four computers are on the internet and available for the public to use at no
charge. Two of these computers have children's programs loaded on
them. Also the children's programs allows young children to access all
the programs that the adults have access to, but they are not able to get on
the internet.
Programs
In the summer we have a "Children's Story Hour" for youngsters.
This program starts in July and is usually 4 to 5 weeks in duration, being
held once a week. It features local people reading stories to the
children, or a program by the Missouri Conservationist, crafts, and
playtime. |
